Video Transcript:

*Aliyah has been assigned a special project that she is both excited and a bit nervous about. While she’s been with the company for a little over a year, this is her first solo project. Notice how non-verbal cues play a role in the meeting she has with her manager, Morgan, about the project.*

Morgan: Hi, Aliyah. Come on in.

Aliyah: Hi, Morgan. Thanks. I’m excited to work on this project.

Morgan: Let’s get down to business

Aliyah: Sounds good. I’m just going to take notes on this desk if you don’t mind. I don’t want to miss any important details.

Morgan: Well what do you think about the project? It’s an important client contract. Are you up for it?

Aliyah: Yes. Yes, of course. I do have a few questions and concerns.

Morgan: Concerns? Really? OK. Let’s get those out of the way first.

Aliyah: Oh, nothing major. I can figure it out myself.

Morgan: Well I’m glad to hear that because we do not have a lot of time.

Aliyah: Oh yeah, I understand. I just want to make sure I have all the specifications correct before we start.

Morgan: Are you OK? You appear distracted.

Aliyah: Oh, no Morgan, I guess I’m just a little anxious about the project.

Morgan: No need. You’re the top candidate at the executive meeting last week and I have the utmost confidence in you.

Aliyah: I’m very happy to hear that and I am positive I can provide the expertise and creativity the project calls for.

*Morgan and Aliyah go through the project’s specifications with all the vocal cues and head nods of clear messaging*

Morgan: Well, I think that about does it. How do you feel about the project now that you know the scope and expectations?

Aliyah: I’m even more excited and confident I can excel at this job.

Morgan: That’s what I like to hear. Welcome to the project.
