Last week you proposed a topic for your final project, and you conducted some preliminary research to help you begin to develop an understanding of the relevant issues related to the topic. Now that your topic has been approved, it is time to conduct additional research. For this week’s Critical Thinking assignment, you should create annotated bibliography consisting of 3 credible sources. The CSU Global Library is a great place to find your sources.

Because you want to focus on credible research, you want to think carefully about where you find information. You should avoid videos, podcasts, general websites, and blogs. So that your research will be timely and relevant, your sources should come from roughly the last five to seven years. Your sources should also be directly relevant to your project. If during your analysis, you determine that a source you have found does not fit within your project, you should not include it in your bibliography.

The following list includes some of the source types you can use for your bibliography this week:

peer-reviewed scholarly articles,
articles from established national or international newspapers or magazines,
trade publications,
government websites and reports, and
books by experts.

If you find a source that doesn’t fit in these categories but you find credible, reach out to your instructor for additional guidance.

For each source in your bibliography you should include the following:

A reference citation in APA format. The sources should be listed in alphabetical order.
A brief summary and overview of the source, focusing on the arguments and conclusions made by the author or authors.
A brief discussion of the credibility and reliability of the source.
A brief discussion of the relevance of the source to your project and its relationship to other sources you have found.

By providing detailed annotations now, you will make your work later in the project easier. For example, by identifying connections between sources now you can begin to synthesize the information in a way that will help you develop effective arguments in the final project. The annotations for each source should be one to two paragraphs long.

For more information about annotated bibliographies, including an example that you should follow for your own bibliography, visit the CSU Global Writing Center’s page on Annotated BibliographiesLinks to an external site..

Writing should not be an entirely solitary activity. Good writers share their work with others to get feedback and improve their writing. You should strongly consider submitting a draft of your assignment to the Writing Center tutors and then using the feedback to revise your paper.

Requirements:

Length: Three sources with annotations, one to two paragraphs per annotation. The overall paper should include a title page, but you do not need to include a references page.
In general you should use third person and neutral pronouns in academic writing. Attribute arguments and claims to authors, not articles, because articles are inanimate objects.
Cite at least three credible sources for this assignment. The CSU Global Library is an excellent place to search for credible, scholarly sources.
Your paper must be formatted according to the CSU Global Writing Center APA guidelines. You can access the Writing Center from the course navigation panel.
You should model your annotated bibliography after the sample bibliography available from the CSU Global Writing Center: Sample Annotated BibliographyLinks to an external site..
Topic: Using Technology to improve healthcare administration efficiency.
