Part 3: Assessment and rating process

For this part of the assessment, you are required to demonstrate knowledge and skills of the assessment and rating process. Using the information and lessons learned from one of the complaints handled in Part 2,  create a hypothetical self-assessment; and a quality and improvement plan (QIP). You must then complete reflective questions to demonstrate your knowledge of the assessment and rating process.

The student is required to complete the following:

Section 1 Self-assessment
Section 2 Quality improvement plan (QIP)
Section 3 Assessment and rating

Section 1 Self assessment

For this part of the assessment, you are required to complete the short answer questions in the spaces provided, and then complete a hypothetical service self-assessment for one Quality Area. The Quality Area needs to be based on improvements and the outcome of one of the complaints handled in Part 2. Complaint about using plastic bag for soiled clothes instead of using cloth bags

? Scenario 2: Written response

? Role play scenario: Responding to systemic problems to improve practice

What is the self-assessment and QIP rated against?

A Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) is a documented strategy that outlines an organization’s commitment to continuous quality improvement.

The primary purpose of a QIP is to identify areas for improvement and to develop measurable goals and objectives to improve quality of care, patient safety, and satisfaction.

A QIP typically includes information on the organization’s mission, vision, and values, as well as a description of the current state of quality and performance metrics. It also outlines strategies, timelines, and methods for monitoring and evaluating progress towards achieving quality improvement goals.

Who can be included in the self-assessment process?

Choose one of the complaints above and identify which quality area it links to. Carry out the self-assessment process based on this complaint, identifying an area for improvement. Complete the following details.
