Respond to this post with the following items:

How do you differ from a peer in using writing to learn and writing to communicate?

 How are you similar?

Provide a suggestion for how to overcome your peers’ challenges regarding academic writing.

Include an open-ended question to extend the discussion with your peer.

How do you use writing to learn?

I use writing to learn so it can help me process the information and as a tool to promote my learning. Writing exercises especially encourage me to think critically about the course material and I uncover material I do not know.

I learn more about something when I write about it. For example, taking notes during lectures and summarizing a topic in my own words after studying it.

How do you use writing to communicate?

I communicate better with writing because it allows me to convey my message or express myself with lucidity. With writing, I communicate with accuracy and efficiency and I am more confident with my opinions and ideas. I communicate by writing via emails, essays, journals, or texting. It is my preferred means of communication because it conveys my thoughts, ideas, and messages to others accurately.

How will your academic writing influence others?

Academic writing has a great influence on others especially in the intellectual world. It is an effective communication tool that delivers learned information in a certain subject of study (Kozak, 2020). My academic writing will play an important role in spreading new knowledge and contributing to the growth of knowledge in that particular field. It can inspire new perspectives, shape intellectual discourse, and foster intellectual growth among readers. What challenges do you think you will have with academic writing? Academic writing usually presents a lot of challenges since I do not really have a lot of experience with it. The challenges I might face will be following the proper writing guidelines, evaluating credible sources, developing my ideas properly, and effectively managing my time within the given deadlines.
