Use these rules to make an apology letter to Mrs. Velez about getting caught cheating on assignment 5.08 in US History. I was in a rush and couldn´t end my assignment in time so I had to cheat. This is what you´ll have to use. Thank you 

Salutation
Your letter must start with the right salutation. Common greetings you can use in your letter include Mr. /Mrs. / Prof/ Ms. A proper salutation should include the name of the teacher. For example,
Dear Mr. James Raven,
Keep off the use of informal greetings when addressing the recipient. For instance, never say, Hey Teach Raven!
Thank them
After greeting the teacher, thank them for their role in your life. You’ve gained lots of knowledge from them; though you are writing an apology letter; first acknowledge what they’ve done to you.
Highlight the incident
It’s important to mention what transpired briefly. Use a few sentences to describe your role to enable the recipient to know what you’re apologizing for.
Apologize genuinely
Use words that imply that you’re genuinely sorry for the action. For example, you may say “I truly regret my actions during…..”, or “sorry for….”
Close the letter politely
End your letter by thanking them and promising never to repeat the mistake. Finally use a polite, complimentary close in your letter such as, “Yours sincerely,” “Yours in obedience,” etc.

Promise never to repeat the mistake. In your apology highlight measures, you’ll take to avoid a repeat of the error. Your teacher needs to know that you are dedicated to change your actions. As you enumerate the measures, you’ll take to avoid the mistake, only offer realistic solutions.
Summarize lessons learn. A wise person learns from their mistakes and makes changes, but a fool will always keep repeating the same mistakes. Let your professor know what you learned from the incident.
