Purpose: Why am I doing this assignment?
When you write a research essay, you are presenting an argument on a specific topic. In order to explain your argument well, the essay needs to be logically and clearly organized. It is very difficult to create a well-written essay from a pile of notes: it makes sense to spend time planning before you start to write the actual paragraphs of your essay. This assignment will give you the opportunity to demonstrate the writing and research skills developed in this course
Instructions: What do I need to do?
Prepare a research essay that includes the following components:
An expanded thesis statement which includes your claim and evidence (the subtopics for discussion)
Introduction and conclusion paragraphs
A minimum of 1 body paragraph for each main idea, don’t forget your citations!
related information from sources (minimum 4 sources) – at least 2 of which must be peer-reviewed – use the Library!
