Professionalism
As a dedicated future educator, I firmly believe in the paramount importance of professionalism in my practice. Upholding the highest ethical standards and adhering to the code of ethics, professional standards of practice, and relevant laws/policies are integral components of my commitment to having a positive and inclusive learning environment. With my interactions with students and their families, approaching everyone with dignity and respect, valuing their diverse cultures and backgrounds. As a future educator you must recognize the significance of fostering collaborative relationships with parents and guardians to build a strong partnership between home and school, ensuring the best possible support for their journey. Furthermore, I understand that conflicts may arise in the workplace, including among colleagues. When faced with disagreements, I will approach them with civility and privacy in accordance with the National policies. By following the Model Code of Ethics for Educators provided by the National Association of state Directors of Teacher Education and Certification, I will maintain a professional conduct and contribute to a harmonious and cooperative environment within the school community.
Student Engagement Strategies
Having a well-managed classroom as an educator leads to a successful teaching career. Engagement strategies create a positive learning environment. One of the strategies you can use to keep a managed classroom is to use cooperative learning. This strategy encourages students to work together, promotes active engagement, increases communications kills, and gives motivation through peer support and shared responsibility. I believe supporting your students individual learning needs is an effective way to gain their trust and to ensure that you are providing a comfortable learning environment. You can use several different methods, but one is visual aids and multimedia which includes pictures, diagrams, and videos to enhance a better understanding. Using assistive technology can help promote engagement and participation. Online collaboration tools facilitate communication and collaboration amongst students, it encourages teamwork, and enhances motivation and engagement. Being aware of your students’ weaknesses and pressure points can stimulate motivation and encourage communication amongst peers. The better we know our students, the more successful our engagement strategies will be. We will know what we are working with versus what we are working against. As a future educator I want to be able to provide a safe and successful learning environment for my classroom.
