This assignment consists of writing a paper that focuses on a question developed by the student on a topic of interest to him or her.
This question will serve as the foundation for an argument of an issue in early education or of your choosing
The student will make a claim and then argue their point of view linearly, step-by-step, with appropriate transitions revealing the logic that ties one point to the next.
The student’s claim must be meticulously considered, the evidence thoroughly researched and carefully selected to provide reasons to the support conclusions they come to in their discussion.
The claim must be arguable: A disagreement or several legitimate points of view must exist regarding the claim. If everyone in the audience agrees there really isn’t anything to argue over.
