I have identified five core beliefs that form the basis of my personal code of ethics related to technology. These beliefs have been shaped by various sources, including philosophical texts, life experiences, and my own introspection.
Respect for Privacy: This belief is rooted in the idea that individuals have a fundamental right to privacy, a concept I’ve learned from both philosophical texts and personal experiences. I value the protection of personal information and the need for consent when sharing or accessing such data. In the digital age, it translates into a commitment to safeguarding personal data and using it responsibly.
Responsibility and Accountability: My sense of responsibility and accountability comes from both life experiences and ethical philosophy. I believe in owning the consequences of my actions, especially when using technology. This means taking responsibility for how I use technology, such as not engaging in cyberbullying and adhering to ethical standards when developing technology.
Digital Inclusivity: I draw inspiration from societal and philosophical values that emphasize inclusivity and equal access for all. In the realm of technology, this translates into advocating for digital inclusivity, ensuring that technology is accessible to people of all backgrounds, abilities, and socioeconomic statuses.
Environmental Sustainability: My commitment to environmental sustainability is influenced by my concern for the planet and the philosophy of ecological ethics. I believe in using technology in a manner that minimizes its environmental impact, supporting eco-friendly practices and promoting awareness of sustainable technology use.
Continuous Learning: My belief in continuous learning comes from my personal drive for self-improvement and adapting to change. In the context of technology, this means staying updated with technological advancements, ethical considerations, and promoting a culture of learning in the field.

Incorporating these core beliefs into my code of ethics, I made a framework that pertains to the perspective of a technology user and an aspiring professional in the field of technology.
